Author Henry Jenkins supports the idea of transmedia storytelling because it is capable of bringing others together to create their own stories on top of what was initially said or written. I truly believe this is an amazing way of connecting people and forming communities.
If a story is created for people to read, listen and/or hear about, they are then able to formulate opinions and ideas on it. Additionally, other people that are connected to that same story can have an extremely different viewpoint based on their own observations. For example, after I had read "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald back in high school, I had mainly discussed an overall summarization of what I had read for each chapter, on top of using the Internet to help me. However, others had used web-based communities or sources to provide further insight on symbolism used throughout the story, as well as why certain events happened the way that they did.
Using online resources or communities can also connect you to others, which then allows you to expand your mindset on stories, current events or personal interests. One example that Jenkins used that I really liked was Star Wars because it was unique. Jenkins had elaborated on how Star Wars has connected people through various personal aspects such as family, friends and love. Furthermore, I had also read a blog post from Jenkins on how multiple love/family life milestones occurred at the same time as the release of each movie.

Overall, it is interesting to see transmedia storytelling expand on various media outlets and how the idea brings people out of their comfort zones to meet, discuss and expand on their thoughts.
